GHYC SUMMER PARTY
The GHYC Club Summer Party which was held last Sunday in a borrowed marquee in our brand new "courtyard" was a fantastic success with 102 people sitting down to a fabulous 4-course meal provided by the Glandore Bistro. Again it all happened due to the hard work and enthusiasm of a lot of very committed volunteers : the structural team, the washing team, the carpet laying team and then the dream team of decorators who transformed a sow's ear into a silk purse in 2 short hours on Sunday. Thanks to everyone involved : it was a gigantic team effort to get there but it really was worth it.
And what a party we had. The Glandore Bistro put on a magnificent meal, the rain stayed away until it didn't matter, the two kegs lasted the whole night and the DJ played until 2.30am with the instructors having a dance-off with the more mature members and Barry Lordan winning every time!
To top it all, the event made almost €3,500 for the club development fund between the ticket price, the raffle with 25 seriously generous sponsored prizes and the silent auction of the most magnificent painting by Deirdre Brennan. Thanks to everyone who attended and made this great night a super special one.
