Glandore is is situated along the panoramic Wild Atlantic Way, a Coastal route from County Donegal to Cork. It is a popular centre for yachting, with some pleasant pubs and restaurants overlooking the waterfront, making it an ideal haven for sailors and landlubbers alike to unwind. Across the water from Glandore, and linked to it by a fascinating bridge, is the busy fishing port of Union Hall, another colourful village. Clonakilty and Skibbereen, both very lively West Cork towns are situated not far from here and are offering plenty of activities, as well as cultural and culinary surprises. Union Hall is the other village situated in Glandore Harbour and always worth a visit.
Glandore is situated less than 50 miles from Cork City and 35 miles from Kinsale. Simply take the N71 from Cork City towards Killarney, follow through Bandon, Clonakilty and turn left in Rosscarbery following the sign post to Glandore. Please note, the road from Rosscarbery to Glandore is not suitable for towing. It is advisable to stay on the main road to Leap and take the left turn for Glandore there.
