2024 Cantor Fitzgerald Irish South Coast Championship Day 2

2024 Cantor Fitzgerald Irish- South Coast- Dragon Championship – Day 2.

Day 2 of the event saw a major comeback by the Dublin fleet with three firsts shared by two of the Dublin fleet, Jaguar and Phantom.

Moderate W/SW breezes aided Race Officer John Corkery and team in successfully running all three planned races in good order with minutes to spare before wind was abruptly switched off for the day, resulting in the fleet being towed back to Glandore in the most part.

Martin Byrne’s Jaguar Sailing saw their daily tally of 1,1,2 catapult them to the head of the fleet with the slimmest one point cushion from Day 1 leader, Little Fella. While the slimmest of margins, this may be sufficient to hoist the trophy given the wind forecast for Sunday’s final race. That being somewhere along the range from zephyr to puff, all will be revealed around midday Sunday, and if the breeze does fill in then it’s still all to play for.

The social programme continued apace with a wonderful event dinner hosted by the Glandore Inn on Saturday evening including presentation of more day prizes courtesy of event sponsors Cantor Fitzgerald.
