2024 Cantor Fitzgerald Irish- South Coast- Dragon Championship – Day 1.

It was the Battle of Kinsale at the head of the fleet in Glandore today as the planned two races were achieved with the benefit of a steady, moderate southwest breeze.

The first of the event day prizes was claimed by Kinsale’s Cameron Good and crew on “Little Fella” with clubmate Daniel Murphy and crew on “Whisper” taking race two by a healthy margin.

Race Officers John Corkery and Siobhán Keane Hopcroft led a top team of volunteers in setting a cracking windward – leeward course in a challenging 40 metres plus of water depth in the seas south of Glandore.

While the sun thankfully shone all day, the air temperature is struggling to build and competitors were glad to adjourn to the embrace of the Glandore Inn for the Sailor’s Special and day prizes.
