With the brighter evenings, and especially with the clocks going forward this week, everyone is beginning to think of sailing again. It was great to see the Club up and running in the beautiful sunshine this weekend for instructor courses. Today’s single RS Quest was paving the way for a full season of racing and training at Glandore. With this in mind the Sailing Committee have identified the need to prepare our race marks for the season ahead to await deployment. Some new marks will need to be made up and others repaired, likewise with our moorings.
There will be a morning for some of this work on Saturday April 15th from 10am at GHYC. Members from all the fleets are encouraged to get involved in this preparatory work. No special skills needed !
Also on the race management front, Hal Andrews will be putting in place a shore-based information/briefing evening at the Club. This will be aimed at people who are involved or would like to become involved in race management/safety at GHYC. Details to follow.
We will also have more qualified communicators on the water this year with all the members undertaking the recent VHF SRC course at the Club receiving their short range certificates. Well done all.
