There was a great response to Vince Tubb’s call to the Dinghy, Squib and Dragon Groups. Over twenty volunteers turned up on a damp Monday morning to help clear and clean the Club, making it ready for future maintenance work.
The yard and workshop were completely cleared with lots of stuff being taken to Rathbarry for storage and the dump. The kitchen and office areas were also given a good spring clean under the newly installed bright ceiling lights, well done Vince.
Those involved were Vince, Jean and Jess Tubb, Jay, Olivia, Mia and Sophie Scarlett, John and Sally Wyles, Harriet Emerson, Rory Doyle, Diarmaid O’Suilleabhain, Diarmuid O’Donovan, Cormac O’Carroll, Jamie Frame, Domhnal Coffey, Peter Fahy, Peter Hayes, Tiernan Brown, Ben Perez and Hal Andrews.
Everyone stayed a bit longer than expected but great work was done making the extra time well worth it. All were rewarded with refreshments provided by Vince and Jean – hot sausage rolls, tea and coffee. The club is now ready for repainting and other general repairs, maintenance and improvements, all to all to be completed before Club activities recommence in April.
