A big well done to some of our members who took to the water on Saturday 6th May for Darkness into Light – raising awareness & much needed funds for Pieta House.

Armed with head torches and plenty of Christmas lights The Creswells, The Luptons and The Mahmoods arrived at the pier from 04.30. They launched at 5am and were out at Sunk Rock for Sunrise. The weather was calm and perfect for a safe outing. Some sailed, some kayaked but all said it was an unforgettable experience they hope to repeat. The highlight for most was starting out & rounding the end of the pier in the darkness surrounded by lit up vessels and giggles from the kids. Our seafarers are hoping they didn’t wake everyone in the village!

After a memorable time on the water everyone was safely back on land by 06.30, desperate for coffee and sausages! Well done everyone!! As a Club we’re very proud to have been part of this important campaign.
