GREEN SHOOTS AT GHYC 7/5/23

While it’s looking very like November this evening, it was great to see our fleet of six RS Quest’s on the Harbour again, in sunshine, earlier today. Lots of happy voices, Irish and Ukrainian, rang around the Club and Pier thanks to the efforts of our Membership Secretary Cliff Jeffers and Kevin Percy, Training Centre Manager , Health & Safety lead Diarmuid O Sullivan and a Top Team of instructors and helpers who facilitated a great experience for a large group of teenagers.

The week past also saw the club pontoon make its annual downstream passage from Leap. The arrival of the pontoon is another piece in the puzzle to make ready for club racing and sailing school operations. The permanent race marks are another vital element and they have been rebuilt and readied for deployment by volunteers under the careful eye of Sailing Sec Hal Andrews and Assistant Michelle Hayes.

Deployment of the marks will commence tomorrow Monday 8/5/23 from 2pm. Help (Muscle) would be greatly appreciated especially from the fleets. Please contact Hal if you are available.
